Laura Barry — Assistant Coach

Prior to arriving at Davidson, Barry spent the last five years working for both Peak Basketball LLC in Boone, N.C., and Point Guard College. Barry also served as the head women's basketball coach at Watauga High School where she led the team to a 124-55 record in seven years.

For her coaching efforts, Barry was named the Coach of the Year in the High/Northwestern Conference in 2018 and 2022 and was a 40-Under-40 honoree by the Boone Chamber of Commerce in 2020. She rounds out her coaching accolades having earned the Homer Morrison Memorial Eight Who Make a Difference Award by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association in 2020.

Barry is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she earned her degree in Exercise and Sport Science as well as Communication Studies. Barry went on to complete her Master's in Executive Management from St. John's University in 2013. While at UNC, Barry had a stellar career as a student-athlete on the women's basketball team where she served as a valued member of two ACC Championship squads in addition to making a Final Four appearance with the Tar Heels in 2007. In the classroom, Barry was a four-year Dean's List and three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree. She capped off her collegiate accolades by earning the Team Inspiration Award during the 2008-09 season.
